About Only Once Share
We built Only Once Share because sharing passwords and sensitive information shouldn't require trusting a third party with your data — or paying for the privilege.
Our Mission
Every day, millions of people share passwords, API keys, documents, and credentials through email, Slack, and text messages — channels that store data indefinitely and are vulnerable to breaches. We believe secure secret sharing should be free, simple, and truly private.
Only Once Share was built to solve this problem with uncompromising security. Using AES-256-GCM encryption performed entirely in the browser, we created a tool where even we — the operators — cannot access your data. It's zero-knowledge by design, not by policy.
Why Open Source
Security tools that ask you to trust them without showing their work have a fundamental credibility problem. That's why Only Once Share is fully open source under the MIT license. You can read every line of code, audit the encryption implementation, and verify our zero-knowledge claims yourself.
Open source also means you can self-host Only Once Share on your own infrastructure using Docker. Need to comply with data residency requirements? Run it in your own data center. Want to customize it for your team? Fork it and make it your own.

Unlike tools that encrypt on the server, we encrypt in your browser. The encryption key lives only in the URL fragment — it's never transmitted to any server.
