What Sets Us Apart
Client-Side Encryption vs Server-Side
Most secret sharing tools — including OneTimeSecret and Privnote — encrypt your data on the server. This means your plaintext secret travels over the network and is briefly visible to the server before encryption. Only Once Share encrypts everything in your browser using AES-256-GCM via the Web Crypto API. The server only ever handles encrypted blobs it cannot read.
Encrypted Image Sharing — A First
No other secret sharing tool supports encrypted image sharing. With Only Once Share, you can securely share screenshots, photos of documents, sensitive diagrams, and any image up to 10 MB. Images and text are packed into a single encrypted payload — the server cannot even tell whether a secret contains text, an image, or both.
